  1. My opthamologist has recommended bariatric surgery, but I haven’t seen a surgeon about it yet. I’m so borderline weight wise (my BMI fluctuates between 34.5 and 35.0). I do, however, have Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (Pseudotumor Cerebri). It causes severe headaches, nausea, exhaustion, visual disturbances, ringing/pulsing sounds in the ear, and in some cases can lead to blindness. It is more common in women who are obese and weight loss often causes a remission of symptoms. I’m really curious what my doctors will recommend. I’m in the middle of switching from Kaiser to Blue Cross.

  2. Carol–most require BMI 40 or BMI 35 with comorbid conditon like b/p, diabetes ect,,

  3. I am in the preparation stage i have my psychological evaluation next week what should i anticipate?

  4. I am and have been 50 lbs over weight for 20 years. I’m almost 45 and am 5’2″ tall. I have done Rx pills, weight watchers, and liposuction. I know I cannot control my eating consumption. I have high b/p and high chloesteral which I have been on Rx’s for more than 2 years. Do I qualify for this procedure? Also, I have a rider on my insurance that “will” cover this procedure fully. Please advisel Carol
